• Student Data: Student names, groups, CEFR levels, progress information, and assessment data
• Usage Data: Lesson generation counts, feature usage, platform interactions, and analytics data

• Content You Upload: Profile images, custom materials, and any other files you upload to the platform

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

4. AI and Machine Learning

Nivelo uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to generate lesson content. Your lesson specifications, vocabulary lists, grammar points, and topic selections may be processed by third-party AI services (such as OpenAI) to generate lesson materials. We do not use your content to train general AI models, but your data may be processed by AI services in accordance with their privacy policies. All AI-generated content is for your use only and remains within your tenant's data isolation.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: With third-party service providers who assist in operating the Service (e.g., hosting, storage, payment processing, AI services) under appropriate data processing agreements
• Multi-Tenant Architecture: Your data is isolated within your tenant (organization or solo account). Data is not shared between tenants
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government regulation
• Safety and Security: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Nivelo, our users, or others
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to users

6. Student Data and Educational Privacy

If you use Nivelo in an educational context, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable student privacy laws (such as FERPA in the United States or GDPR in the European Union). By using our platform with student data, you represent that you have obtained necessary consents and authorizations. We maintain data isolation between tenants and do not access or use student data for purposes other than providing the Service to you.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or accounting purposes. Lesson content and student data may be retained for a reasonable period to allow you to export or recover your data.
